For Family Home Evening (on Tuesday) we decided to take our kids to the temple to give them a chance to connect with our "new" one here in Utah ... the beautiful Bountiful Temple.

County Fair
Going to the fair when I was young always seemed like a glimpse into another world! I wanted our kids to get that "glimpse" this year. But, didn't expect it would include a walk-in petting zoo. Typical to our family's usual reactions was:
Aaron loving the "woofs" in the pens, but crying if we got him too close to anything roaming free.
Elizabeth trying really hard to love the pony...because she loves ponies...but in actuality about having a panic attach every time she was "brushed by" by another goat!
Joshua needing to step out for a while...overcome by the smell.
Nathan needing one last chance to go pet the cute guy on top of the feeding trough. (But probably washing his hands most carefully when it's over.)
Ah, yes, the carefree farm life. :)
The other surprise was the Dog Diving. We'll remember the ones who were amazing...even splashing us in the crowd. And, the poor little guy that was practically shoved off the edge into the water.
Nathan's Cub Scout Award
Cub scouts is a different ball game here in Utah ... with about 40 other boys in the ward it's quite the program! This last month, Nathan earned his Religious Knot.
24th of July Girl
Our Primary did a cute pioneer activity for the 24th of July.
We just couldn't have Elizabeth going without being properly dressed!
Trying a Sailboat
Lucky enough to be storing Greg's parents' sailboat here in our garage. For one of Nathan's cub scout requirements Greg pulled it out to teach Nathan how to set it up and use it.
Another time Nathan and Greg took it out for a few hours.
They had a great time ... but Nathan was quick to let us know it's a lot of rope and a lot of work!

Had a fun morning at the Hill Air Force Base Museum!
Made especially great by getting to do it with dear friends visiting from Michigan!

I wish we'd have gotten more pictures of Dad! We was a great sport to get in and play the games...and actually did really well!
We should have known, though, that Carol would be the Master!
Stratego was a big hit too...thanks to Grandma teaching both kids in Colorado and Utah so they'd know how when they got together!
Elizabeth and Joanna were such cute friends!
Just can't wait until all the cousins (and family) can be together at Christmas!
