The family that owned the home before us were really into gardening. We are doing our best to put them to good use! There were nice raspberry and blackberry bushes growing in other parts of the yard...ask well as some strawberries. So, we've transplanted them into some of the raised beds and we'll see how it goes.
Mostly for me it's so fun to teach these kids and have them get into the gardening process.
Also, you can see up next to the fence beyond the raised beds there are several fruit trees. They are called "espadrille" trees because they are trained to grow flat and tied to trellises. They are "all the rage" in the ward. I just hope we don't kill them!
